Half Done

Four More and Counting

We are now half way through the eight week cycle. Thanks for sticking with it.

Class Name

So far we have had two suggestions for class name. John has suggested "Calvary Pride" and Betsy has suggested "Ice Breakers". Here's the pitch from each:

Calvary Pride

Here is an idea for the 01-05's class name....

How about "Calvary Pride"

Calvary for: the church that sponsors this opportunity and the place where Jesus gave his life for us!

Pride for: being proud to believe in Jesus and being like a company of fierce lions serious about getting fit and doing our best for God.

Ice Breakers

I like the name Ice Breakers. The obvious reason would be the weather. Another reason comes from our being Christian soldiers, representatives of Christ on earth. When we do our devotion at the end of each workout we are often reminded that even a smile can have a big impact on someone's day. This workout group has given me an easy way to bring up God in casual conversation and to hopefully have some positive impact in another person's day. It's an easy "Ice Breaker" that a non-Christian can relate to, excercise. What do you think?

Nominations are still open for a class name so don't be shy about making a suggestion. To make a suggestion, leave a comment by following the "comment" link below this post. Suggestions will be collected from comments and posted here periodically to make them more visible.

Verses of the Day

Hebrews 3:12-14

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:

"Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

Let us continue to encourage each other, not only in physical matters but the spiritual too. Hold each other accountable with a spirit of love, gentleness, and kindness. Let's not forget to encourage everyone, at least with a smile.
